A certified Interior Designer who possesses and applies a diversified knowledge of interior design principles, practices, and procedures to complete assignments with originality and ingenuity. Anticipates job expectations and contributes to project and design solutions.

Responsibilities

Collaborates on all phases of the design process including programming client needs, conceptual and schematic design, design development, document preparation, and construction administration.

Develops interior concepts based on client vision, project scope, and architectural concept.

Uses creative thinking to develop innovative solutions.

Creates renderings and visual presentations to communicate design concepts to clients, and prepares finish plans, specifications, and material selections for construction.

Provides design support and documentation during project execution.

Coordinates documentation efforts for projects of varying sizes with minimal guidance.

Manages project schedules and deadlines effectively.

Participates in and may lead design presentations internally and externally.

Collaborates on implementation documentation and communicates design requirements to the broader team.

Participates in selecting and presenting furniture, fixtures, equipment, color palettes, and lighting, incorporating sustainable practices.

Coordinates and may lead client presentations.

Assists in developing cost estimates for design proposals.

Reviews and approves final programming, design development, construction documents, and furnishings.

Participates in product presentations to stay updated on industry trends.

Communicates with disciplines, product reps, and contractors to incorporate project requirements.

Leads team meetings to discuss project and technical issues.

Qualifications Education and Experience

Accredited professional degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.

Typically 5+ years of experience.

Licenses and Certifications

NCIDQ certification required.

Sustainable design accreditation preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Advanced proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and visualization tools like Twinmotion or Enscape.

Intermediate skills in Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo, AI design tools, and VR technologies.

Knowledge of sustainability, FF&E, building codes, and project management.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Additional Information Base salary range: $75k - $95k for DC locations. Benefits include health coverage, 401(k), paid time off, and more.
