Job Category : Hospitality - Hotel Description The Firefall Ranch General Manager position is an unique opportunity to operate an upscale 55 room ranch that offers exceptional guest experiences. The Ranch will provide fine food and beverage, onsight activities, and thoughtful amenities. Located on 300 acres of wilderness valley positioned on the highway 120 entrance of Yosemite National Park. The General Manager has the ability to help create the owner’s vision of a relaxed, thoughtful, and exceptional vacation destination for visitors from around the world. The Firefall Ranch GM manages all operations of the Ranch. The GM is required to delegate lodge directives, establish guest service standards, human resource related communication, financial discipline, direct specific department goals, and California payroll compliance. The GM of the Ranch will hold regularly scheduled meetings for managers, coordinate departmental meetings and establish Ranch specific employee life cycle training. The Firefall Ranch General Manager works closely with the First Light Resort Operations Manager and the sister properties General Managers in coordinating company policies, housing priorities, and all First Light Properties standards and guidelines. The Fire Fall Ranch General Manager is also highly involved in supporting our youth employment program. Firefall Ranch will offer our guests individual villas and cottages. The GM will support the housekeeping and front desk teams to deliver an exceptional lodging experience. The GM will work with the Retail Director to manage our General Store offerings that range from fine souvenirs, tshirts, barvista coffee drinks, and grab and go food and beverage. The Ranch’s culinary program will follow the goals established by the First Light sister properties, Rush Creek Lodge and Evergreen Lodge. The goal is to provide fresh well prepared offerings that are unique to our area, thoughtful, sustainable and truly memorable. The GM will support the Executive Chef/Food and Beverage Manager with developing a menu that leverages the design of the kitchen that features solid fuel grills, sous vide offerings, and Pacotized desserts. The General Manager will oversee the facilities manager and assist in the coordination of vendors and contractors to upkeep and maintain the property. All aspects of the Ranch landscaping, lighting and estetic feel will need to be monitored and effectively coordinated. Firefall Ranch will be developed into a unique venue for Yosemite tourists that is on a level unequaled to other offerings. The large valley the ranch occupies will give guests a sense of the natural surroundings that is peaceful and explorable. The General Manager will need to develop the culture of all ranch departments to deliver hospitality and guest services that strive to offer unmatched experiences and unforgettable memories. Competencies/Required Skills and Abilities Extensive experience managing a busy, multi-faceted operation, including financial management

Strong HR training (formal and/or informal)

Significant knowledge of lodging financial tools and revenue management

Familiar with hotel PMS and POS operating systems

Strong interest in training, coaching, and supporting our youth mission

Experience regarding managing departmental schedules

Fine Dining acumen is a plus

Staff Supervise and manage department managers

Interview and hire all managers and support the hiring process for all general staff members

Coordinate daily with all departments

Operations Manage Ranch profitability

Work hands-on on a daily basis as needed

Establish structured processes and enforcing standards, programs and procedures, including break scheduling and monitoring

Establish and oversee strong safety standards

Oversee Ranch vendor relationships

Devise and execute operational enhancements

Maintain all Ranch equipment and supplie

Reporting/Financial Actively manage day to day labor and overtime

Work with account director on daily sales reconciliations

Implement cash handling procedures for all departments

Regular monitoring of financial results, including department sale and Ranch bookings

Improve profitability

Work environment and Physical demands The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions

Frequent walking, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, sitting, climbing stairs

Ability to stand and move continuously

Lifting up to 50 pounds maximum

Scrubbing and mopping floors

Working with required chemicals

Details Full time salaried position

The Ranch is a remote location and housing options are available both onsite and offsite

Our local community is home to many key managers and their families as well

Hours variable, including nights and weekends and all holidays, as well as situational/crisis availability; a regular schedule with specific, set days off will be established
