The Category Space Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the West Region category team, focusing on regional retail customers. Job Description
The Category Space Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the West Region category team, focusing on regional retail customers. This position involves developing insights-based opportunities and communicating strategic growth recommendations based on our category framework. The ideal candidate will be located in the West Region, preferably in Southern California, and will be responsible for supporting the space process.
Responsibilities
Support the space process and develop insights-based opportunities. Communicate strategic growth recommendations for customers. Take ownership of work, ensuring attention to detail and adherence to timelines. Participate in reset processes, including drawing planograms. Build strong relationships with retailers as a trusted category advisor across the beer and hard beverage business. Lead, motivate, and drive engagement with sales partners. Effectively communicate, manage, and prioritize workload across multiple customers. Track and measure retailer results against aligned strategic goals and shelf objectives. Educate internal teammates and external customers on growth opportunities through clear communications. Lead future industry growth in assigned areas of responsibility.
Essential Skills
Experience in space planning. Proficiency in Excel. Ability to think strategically and take insight into action. Strong communication skills with cross-functional teams. Project management experience. Demonstrated ability to synthesize and leverage multiple data points to create retail strategies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business or marketing-related fields. Familiarity with space planning software (JDA, Apollo, or Spaceman). Familiarity with syndicated data, software, and measures (IRI, demographic data, panel data, etc.). Experience with digital category manager tools like Numerator. 2+ years’ experience in category management is a plus. in Beer, Wine & Spirits in a sales or category capacity is a plus.
Work Environment
This is a remote position, however it will require 1 day a week on site at a retailer
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
