Job Summary:

Available Schedules:

2nd Shift; Wednesday - Sunday (weekends required)

3rd Shift; Monday - Friday

The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring product quality through rigorous laboratory testing, inspection, and documentation. This role involves performing routine and non-routine quality control tests on manufactured products and incoming materials, managing equipment calibration, and supporting compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, SQF). The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and possesses strong quality control expertise to uphold Transcendia's high standards.

Job Duties:

Quality Control Testing:

Conduct routine and non-routine laboratory tests on manufactured products and incoming raw materials to verify compliance with quality specifications and acceptance criteria. Raw Material Verification:

Review and archive Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for raw materials, ensuring adherence to quality standards. Data Management:

Accurately enter test data into inspection databases (e.g., Movex) and generate customer COAs, ensuring data integrity and traceability. Equipment Calibration:

Manage and execute the test equipment calibration program to ensure accurate and reliable measurements, supporting third-party onsite calibrations as needed. Sample Management:

Collect, organize, and store sample retains in an orderly manner for future reference and audits. Non-Conformance Handling:

Identify, document, and communicate quality issues or deviations to the Quality Control Manager, assisting in initial customer complaint investigations. Process Audits:

Conduct layered process audits and internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, SQF, and other relevant standards. Reporting:

Prepare graphs, charts, and reports to communicate quality metrics and trends, escalating lab concerns promptly to the supervisor. Continuous Improvement:

Support quality improvement initiatives by analyzing test data, identifying trends, and recommending corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Safety and Compliance:

Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental regulations, maintaining a clean and organized workspace through daily 5S practices. Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality issues and support operational goals. Other Duties:

Perform additional tasks assigned to support the Quality Control department. Job Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree in applied science, Quality Control, or a related field preferred. Experience:

Minimum of (1) year of experience in quality control or quality assurance, preferably in a manufacturing or materials science environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Technical Skills:

Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, spectrometers) and quality control methodologies (e.g., Statistical Process Control (SPC), Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Knowledge of industry standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and SQF. Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and ERP software

Analytical Skills:

Strong ability to interpret technical specifications, analyze quality data, and identify deviations to ensure product conformity. Organizational Skills:

Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain organized records and sample retains. Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with employees, suppliers, and customers. Computer Proficiency:

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word for data analysis and reporting; experience with quality management software is a plus. Problem-Solving:

Ability to troubleshoot quality issues, propose solutions, and implement corrective actions. Teamwork:

Willingness to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team to achieve quality objectives. Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks as needed. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies. Familiarity with regulatory requirements specific to materials manufacturing or related industries. Knowledge of automated inspection systems or advanced quality control technologies. Work Environment:

The role involves working in a laboratory and manufacturing environment with potential exposure to chemicals, machinery, and moderate noise levels. Adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
