How You Make an Impact
Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work to keep the facility safe and operational. Respond promptly, efficiently, and safely to maintenance issues, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) concerns. Generate work orders for repairs beyond internal capacity and ensure timely follow-up. Maintain clean, well-kept grounds that reflect our commitment to excellence. Address facility and maintenance safety issues within 24 hours to ensure a safe environment for all. Keep all equipment properly maintained and in working order. Conduct facility inspections and ensure compliance with all state, local, and federal regulations. Assist the site team before, during, and after large-scale emergencies to ensure operational continuity. Follow and enforce safety guidelines, including OSHA regulations. Ensure proper function of all mechanical and electrical systems to prevent disruptions. Take on additional tasks as assigned to support the YMCA's mission. What You Bring to the Y
High School Diploma or GED. 3-5 years of facilities maintenance experience required. 3-5 years of electrical, plumbing and HVAC experience required. Licensing in a specialty like HVAC, plumbing, or electrical preferred. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical Requirements:
This role requires frequent physical activity and the ability to perform hands-on maintenance tasks. The Maintenance Technician II must regularly walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl while working on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical repairs, and general facility upkeep. The role includes routine use of ladders, power tools, and hand tools, often in tight or elevated spaces. The employee must be able to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally heavier loads with assistance. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
