Job Title
Effective Date: 07/25 Job Summary: Supports the Director with ensuring effective operations of the Trauma Registry of The Queen's Medical Center's (QMC) Level I Trauma Program. Leads the acquisition of accurate, current and complete data for all patients meeting Trauma Registry inclusion criteria as required/defined by QMC Punchbowl Trauma Program leadership, the State of Hawaii Trauma System regulations, and the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACSCOT). Performs Trauma Registrar duties. Typical Physical Demands: Essential Functions: Seeing. Hearing. Speaking. Finger dexterity. Manual Material Handling: Infrequent: Lift floor to waist between 0-5 lbs. Lift waist to shoulder between 0-5 lbs. Lift waist to overhead between 0-5 lbs. Carry between 6-10 lbs. Non-Manual Material Handling: Infrequent: Stoop/Bend. Kneel. Climb: Stairs/Ladder. Reach: shoulder level. Reach: above head. Occasional: Stand. Walk. Twist. Frequent: Sit. Gripping. Typical Working Conditions: Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. Hours will vary according to work demands and project requirements. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in health science. Certification and Licensure: Current Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). Current Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR) certification from the American Trauma Society. Current certification as an Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) from the Association for Advancement of Automotive Medicines. Experience: Three (3) years of trauma registry experience, preferably at a Level 1 Trauma Center. Prior experience in implementing, analyzing, and designing systems for a trauma registry. Prior experience with AIS/ISS and ICD-10 coding, and registry/report writing. Experience to demonstrate the following: proficiency with database management and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to work in a team environment. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management skills.
