We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Payroll Administrator to manage end-to-end payroll processing across multi-state jurisdictions. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate wage payments, proper tax withholdings, and compliance with applicable laws and internal controls. Must have direct experience administering payroll in a publicly traded company, including non-cash compensation such as equity or stock payouts. Key Responsibilities Manage bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll processing for U.S. employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all regulatory and company guidelines. Administer and reconcile non-cash compensation, including RSUs, stock options, and equity payouts for employees of a publicly traded company. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll laws, including proper tax treatment of equity compensation and other special earnings. Maintain and support the payroll module within Workday, including time tracking, employee data updates, and configuration accuracy. Coordinate with third-party vendors to manage payroll tax filings, process updates, and respond to agency notices. Reconcile payroll registers against tax filings, vendor reports, and bank account statements. Uphold SOX compliance standards, including preparation of accurate and auditable payroll documentation and control procedures. Review payroll inputs such as timesheets, bonuses, and deductions to verify accuracy before submission. Support the administration of employee leave programs (FMLA, STD, ADA, etc.) in collaboration with HR and external vendors. Act as the main point of contact for employee payroll inquiries and issue resolution. Monitor vendor performance and evaluate processes to minimize errors and improve efficiency in payroll operations. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 47 years of payroll processing experience, including current or recent experience with non-cash compensation (e.g., equity awards, RSUs, stock payouts) Proven experience supporting payroll in a publicly traded company environment Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax and wage laws Understanding of employee benefit-related laws such as ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ACA Proficient in payroll systems and Microsoft Office Suite Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Experience with Workday Payroll Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal audit controls related to payroll Ability to analyze complex compensation scenarios and provide accurate payroll guidance Benefits Medical benefits (medical, dental, vision) 401k with match Hybrid work schedule PTO
