Intake & Constituent Services is responsible for interfacing with the public and providing customer service.

Why does the job exist?
As the point of first contact within the office, reception provides excellent customer service, directing incoming calls and visitors, and handling other administrative tasks. Reception handles a variety of administrative support tasks, including answering phones, receiving visitors, preparing meeting and training rooms, and sorting and distributing mail.
How does it get done?
The receptionist greets visitors with a positive, helpful attitude, exemplifying great customer service; assists visitors in finding their way around the office and announcing visitors as necessary; helps maintain workplace security by issuing, checking and collecting badges as necessary and maintaining visitor logs; answers phones in a positive, professional manner, and routes calls as necessary; takes and sends messages, forwards and screens phone calls; assists with a variety of administrative tasks including copying, faxing, and taking notes; sorts and distributes mail.
Who are the customers?
Customers include any member of the public, as well as coworkers within the agency.
Ideal Candidate
Ideal Candite will have the following experience:
-Prior experience as a receptionist or in a related field. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Competency in Google/Microsoft mail, docs, and sheets. -Good time management skills. -Customer service experience. -Able to contribute positively as part of a team, helping out with various tasks as required.
Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience in office administration, customer service, records management technique and procedures, basic accounting, and/or business administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one year (1) year may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment as some statewide travel maybe required. Employment is subject to criminal background check and is conditional pending results of criminal background check. Be of good moral character and not have been convicted of a felony offense by a court of this state, any other state or the United States.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending, lifting and reaching may be required. Ability to complete assignments with a high level of accuracy within strict time constraints. Incumbent has direct contact with customers to provide assistance. Contacts may be angry and may also require extensive explanations about their responsibilities and rights under the law. Must be able to lift 25 - 30 lbs. Occasional travel may be required.
