We are looking for an experienced Junior Financial Controller to maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments, as well has handle monthly financial reporting and budgeting.
Job duties include working closely with our accounting team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments. Our ideal candidate holds a Finance degree (preferably followed by accounting courses) and is familiar with accounting software packages, like NetSuite, Airbase or Oracle.
Location: Miami, FL.
*Duties* * Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process * Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, supplier’s ledger, customer ledger and general ledger * Manage and track receivables and payables ensuring timely collection and payments * Bring the books to the trial balance stage * Perform partial checks of the posting process * Complete tax forms * Enter data, maintain records and create reports. * Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner * Perform AR/AP reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and review general ledger to ensure all financial data is accurate and up to date * Weekly and month-end journal entries for review and approval * Review of daily cash entries and month-end bank reconciliations * Experience in accrual accounting for proper revenue and expense recognition * Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure the secure storage and retrieval of financial documents * At least 5 years of proven experience
*Requirements* * Proven experience in accounting and bookkeeping * Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records * Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers * Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software * Strong understanding of financial concepts and principles * Proficient in accounting software * Expertise in cash flow analysis, bank reconciliation, and account reconciliation processes * Proficiency in English and in MS Office * Spanish speaker is a plus * Customer service orientation and negotiation skills * High degree of accuracy and attention to detail * BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
