Millennium Power Services is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CNC and Manual Machinist to join our team in Westfield, MA. As a Machinist, you will play a key role in our production process, utilizing your expertise to fabricate precision parts using both manual and CNC machining techniques. This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about precision machining.Responsibilities:Setting Up and Operating Machines: Set up and operate both manual and CNC machines, including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and Multi-Axis CNC lathe (DOOSAN), PROTO TRAK Lathes, Milling Machines (PROTO TRAK), and Bridgeport.Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.Tool Selection and Maintenance: Select the right cutting tools, fixtures, and materials. Monitor machine performance, make necessary adjustments, and perform routine maintenance.Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with stringent quality standards and specified tolerances.Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with team members, engineers, and supervisors to discuss project requirements and machining processes.Safety and Maintenance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and perform routine machine maintenance.Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime.Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of production activities, materials used, time spent on each job, and any issues encountered.Qualifications:5-7 years of experience strongly preferred.Proven experience as a Machinist with a strong understanding of both manual and CNC machining processes.Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).Skilled in setting up and operating both manual and CNC machining equipment.Mastercam programming experience with Proto Trak control required.Experience with Haas & Doosan multi-axis machines preferred.Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and dial bores.Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and machining accessories.Strong math skills, including geometry.Knowledge of various metal properties and machinability.High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical education or certification is a plus.Position Details:Regular hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.Overtime and weekend hours available and required as needed.Opportunity for travel to serve customers onsite.Features and Benefits:Competitive pay based on experience, knowledge, and ability.Weekend and overtime hours paid at elevated rates.Health, medical, and dental benefits.Short- and long-term disability plans.Life insurance policy and 401(k) plan.Paid time off and paid holidays.Clean and safe work environment.Join Millennium Power Services and become part of a dynamic team dedicated to excellence in machining and manufacturing.
