We are seeking a Senior Claims Substantiation Analyst I to join our US Claims Substantiation team, whichis part of our Safety, Regulatory, Claims, and Microbiology function. Thispivotal role will evaluate and validate product claims for L'Oreal products,including claims-related launch responsibilities for domestic, regional andinternational brands collaborating closely with L'Oreal colleagues globally.Primary stakeholders will include the Product Development, Product Evaluation,Regulatory Affairs, Product Safety, Marketing, and Legal teams, worldwideClaims and Country Scientific Directors.

A Day in the Life:

Championing Product Integrity: You'll begin your day by evaluating and validating product claims for L'Oréal's diverse portfolio, ensuring every statement made about our products is scientifically sound and compliant. Whether it's a new skincare launch or a global haircare innovation, your expertise ensures our claims resonate with consumers and meet all regulatory standards. Navigating Global Collaboration: You'll work closely with colleagues across Product Development, Product Evaluation, Regulatory Affairs, Product Safety, Marketing, and Legal-both domestically and internationally. Acting as the principal contact for claims review in your assigned areas, you'll guide projects from inception to launch and beyond, ensuring alignment and transparency at every stage, in addition to any other claims and regulatory duties as assigned by management. Ensuring Compliance Across Channels: Your day often involves conducting meticulous compliance reviews of labeling, artwork, and advertising copy across all formats-television, digital, packaging, print, and more. You'll ensure that every consumer touchpoint reflects accurate, substantiated claims and adheres to local and international regulations. Substantiating with Science: You'll review test reports, experimental designs, and scientific literature to determine their sufficiency for claims support. Preparing comprehensive substantiation dossiers, you'll respond to requests from regulatory authorities, TV networks, and retailers, ensuring our claims withstand scrutiny. Guiding Regulatory Strategy: As a trusted advisor, you'll provide guidance and compliance advice to laboratories and product development teams, identifying potential compliance issues early. You'll apply your expertise in global regulations, including FTC, FDA, and NAD guidance, supporting the defense of claims in the face of challenges and litigation. Resolving Complex Issues: Throughout the day, you'll take an active leadership role in resolving disputes related to claims and regulatory matters, collaborating with Marketing, Legal, and R&I teams. You'll keep management informed of escalating issues and help shape policies that drive continuous improvement. Driving Global Consistency: You'll collaborate with international colleagues to ensure claims and communications meet local regulations, proactively identifying and addressing regulatory limitations. Your work ensures that L'Oréal's global claims strategy is both consistent and locally relevant. Adapting and Evolving: No two days are the same. You'll handle additional claims and regulatory duties as assigned, staying agile and informed in a fast-moving regulatory landscape-always with a focus on ensuring that L'Oréal's innovations are both compelling and compliant. We Are Looking For:

Education: A completed Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or comparable Sciences is required. Experience: 3-5+ years of progressive industry experience (cosmetics/personal care, pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare products or food), including specific experience in claims substantiation is required Extensive knowledge of the product claims regulations and U.S. regulatory landscape. Demonstrated strong collaboration and strategic thinking, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work in a cross functional role and to interact effectively across highly matrixed global organization. Strong communication skills (oral, written, and interpersonal) and the ability to identify and recommend solutions to problems. Strong negotiation skills. Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Able to work independently with minimal supervision, make sound decisions, and escalate issues appropriately. A proactive problem-solver with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Multi-lingual. English fluency, Portuguese, French and/or Spanish would also be a plus.
