Electrical Installation Technician
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Electrical Installation Technician (Tech I or Tech II) to join a Government Consulting company located in Norfolk, VA through 100% onsite work. The Electrical Installation Technician will support the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) by installing and maintaining electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems, on military bases. Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain electronic security systems including CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems (IDS). Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and sustainment activities to ensure operational readiness. Perform site surveys, cable terminations, equipment mounting, and system grounding in accordance with NEC standards. Document installation progress using Infralink and other tracking tools. Participate in daily safety and project meetings; enforce safety protocols and maintain tool inventory. Mentor junior technicians and assist with training on installation best practices and safety procedures. Support additional projects at Air Force bases and other military installations, including robotics and EV infrastructure. Qualifications: Tech I: Minimum 2 years
of experience in electronics installation or maintenance,
Tech II: Minimum 4 years of experience
in electronics installation or maintenance Experience with LENEL, Software House, Milestone, or similar security systems Strong communication skills and ability to work in team environments Valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record U.S. Citizenship and Active Secret Clearance required High school diploma or GED; military electronics training (minimum 720 classroom hours) preferred Additional certifications in IDS, ACS, CCTV systems, or electrical apprenticeship a plus Compensation: Salary Range:
$34-$36/hr depending on experience
Employment Type:
Contract through end of year (4-6 months); potential for extension with added PTO/holiday benefits
Clearance Level:
Must be eligible to work in the United States and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance
