All Staten Island programs are allotted a $4,420 commuter differential that is applicable to anyone who currently works or is hired to work on Staten Island who doesn't live in Staten Island in addition to the base salary or hourly wage.PURPOSE: This document outlines the positions overview and core competencies needed for the Clinical Supervisor, Social Work Internship (LMSW) position.POSITION OVERVIEW: The Clinical Supervisor for Social Work Interns is a licensed clinician, a member of the program's leadership team and is primarily responsible for the clinical supervision and professional development of social work interns completing their field work from a school of Social Work in the clinic. They are also responsible for implementation and oversight of evidence-based or innovative clinical services or models of care. The Licensed Clinical Supervisor ensures clients receive timely access to quality clinical services, including during crises; oversees functions to support program's clinical operations; and ensures program compliance with Federal, State, and City regulatory bodies, CARF and funding entities.KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Clinical Services: Responsible for development and provision of evidence-based or new clinical services or models of care to effectively meet the clinical needs of the individuals/families and communities we serve. Duties are as follows:Identify gaps in clinical services at the program level and develop potential solutions to fill the gaps.Lead the implementation of evidence-based treatment or have direct oversight and responsibility for innovative models of care, in partnership with The Jewish Board's training department and/or external agencies.Ensure all assigned social work interns maintain an active caseload size as defined by clinic executive leadership.Works with social work interns to maximize time providing direct care to clients.Teaches, assesses, and monitors skills such as completion of timely notes, time management & organizational skills. Co-sign all clinical documentation for interns.Develops social work interns in competency to provide individual, group and family therapy. Teaches person centered treatment planning and ensures treatment planning is interdisciplinary, and client driven. Keeps written supervisory notes, up to date and reflective of clinician's strengths and areas for improvement. Provide direct services to clients, as needed, including intakes and crisis interventions and coverage for cases.Develop strategies to ensure clients have timely access to care and increased engagement in careSupervision of crisis intervention servicesImplementation of quality improvement initiativesParticipate in quality assurance activities such as chart reviews and utilization management.Integrate recovery, rehabilitation, treatment, and vocational components of the program.Monitor and follow up on program incidentsOver sees 5 social work interns Personnel:Responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing to support clinical care and evaluating staff performance. Duties include the following:Participating in selection of social work interns in conjunction with the Learning DepartmentTimely completion of educational plans, social work intern evaluations and appropriately and clearly addressing performance concernsConducting or participating in social work intern training and developmentMonitor attendance and vacation scheduling to ensure program coverageSupervision of social work of 5 social work internsAdministrative Functions and Program Operations: As part of the leadership team, responsible for ensuring program operations are conducted efficiently; the program remains in compliance with relevant regulatory entities and is fiscally viable. Duties are as follows:•Facilitate team meetings, case conferences, and other meetings as assigned•Ensure program and staff are compliant with regulations and standards of care that govern the program•Utilize a variety of electronic databases to monitor billing and address any fiscal or billing issues that arise•As part of program management, identify and develop systems to improve program operations•May serve as back up to the Director or other supervisors; may assume responsibility for operationsCORE COMPETENCIES for the position include:Solid clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based practices such as DBT, Trauma Focused CBT, and EMDR.Ability to supervise and develop social work interns, ensuring they maintain an active caseload and provide direct care to clientsExcellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities efficiently.Ability to teach and monitor time management and organizational skills to social work internsStrong communication skills to effectively collaborate with The Jewish Board's training department, external agencies, and other team members.Supervision of crisis intervention servicesAbility to work collaboratively with various departments, including marketing, IT, and customer service, to ensure the program's successExperience in participating in the selection, training, and development of social work interns in conjunction with the Learning DepartmentEDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIRED:Master's degree in social work and New York State licensure in social work (LMSW)SIFI Certification or willing to complete SIFI training EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/LANGUAGE PREFERENCE:2 years of clinical experience. Solid clinical skills and knowledgeable of evidence-based practices. Prior experience in DBT, Trauma Focused CBT, EMDR preferred, but not required. Excellent organizational skills, leadership, teamwork and communication skills. COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED:Proficient with electronic health recordsMicrosoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); comfortable and proficient using audio video platforms (i.e., Zoom).
