Dealer Account Manager

The Dealer Account Manager is responsible for managing a geographical territory in the Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) channel selling Generac and DR Power products. Responsible for growing Generac's market share by gaining a share of wallet within existing dealers and generating new revenue through signing new dealers. Manages and grows a portfolio of existing dealers and manages a pipeline of prospective dealer partners through outbound cold calls, both internal and external referrals, and conducting market research to identify the best business opportunities. Major Responsibilities include: Utilizing internal tools and conducting market research to identify market coverage gaps to generate new business opportunities. Performing outbound cold calls to promote partnerships for Generac and DR Power products. Managing inbound inquiries from the OPE Territory Manager to facilitate potential partnerships. Developing and maintaining a pipeline of prospective customers from inbound inquiries, market research, lead generation, and outbound call efforts. Discussing and reviewing contract paperwork with business owners to finalize dealer agreements. Creating tactical sales plans with short- and long-term objectives for the assigned territory. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to introduce new products and expand market share. Serving as the primary contact for customer inquiries and expediting issue resolution. Working with clients to develop sales and promotional strategies to drive revenue. Providing product knowledge training and webinars to dealer partners. Creating and presenting channel-specific programs and promotions to key accounts. Managing initiatives to identify new sales opportunities and expand existing accounts. Strengthening relationships with accounts to promote sales of existing and new products. Executing effective launch plans for newly onboarded dealer accounts. Facilitating routine communications between customers and cross-functional teams. Maintaining and updating a list of potential customer targets regularly. Staying updated on product offerings and relevant content. Overseeing and resolving order management issues. Minimum Job Requirements include: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field, with at least 1 year of inside sales or equivalent experience, or 2 years of inside sales experience in lieu of a degree. At least 1 year of inside sales or equivalent experience, or 2 years of inside sales experience in lieu of a degree. Preferred Work Experience includes: 3 - 5 years of sales experience. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities include: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proven experience in sales, account management and business development. Ability to analyze market data and identify opportunities. Ability to foster relationships and drive business growth. Strong negotiation skills and understanding of the complex sales process. Analytical ability to interpret key business metrics. Ability and willingness to travel into assigned territory. Previous experience or familiarity in outdoor power equipment industry preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences, including management. Effective presentation skills. Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a field role. Ability to identify complex problems, gather data, and draw conclusions. Proven track record of implementing process improvements. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems. Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role based in South Burlington, VT or Remote is $52,000 - $65,000. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
