HSE Manager
This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote a safe and sustainable work environment. The position requires proactive monitoring, continuous improvement initiatives, and partnership with stakeholders to enhance workplace safety and environmental accountability. Key responsibilities include: Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA, DOT, and EPA standards. Maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems to assess and mitigate health, safety, and environmental risks. Conducting internal audits and inspections, recommending corrective actions as needed. Performing and updating HSE risk assessments in alignment with facility guidelines and internationally recognized standards. Identifying workplace safety and environmental hazards related to processes, services, and products. Handling regulatory reporting and record-keeping for OSHA and environmental compliance. Enhancing and maintaining regulatory programs to ensure continuous improvement. Conducting site audits to evaluate compliance and identify opportunities for improvement. Directing the facility safety team to foster a culture of safety and compliance. About the candidate: 5
7 years of progressive Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE) experience required. Bachelors degree in a related field preferred. Technical expertise: experience with Lean problem-solving tools (8D/A3), incident investigation, and root cause analysis. Proven ability to develop and deliver HSE training programs. Training in ergonomics, machine guarding, and first aid response. Regulatory knowledge: working knowledge of OSHA 1910, EPA, DOT, and other safety and environmental regulations. Safety Compliance: Control of Hazardous Energy, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Electrical Safety, Ergonomics, Machinery and Machine Guarding, Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV), Confined Space Entry, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Hazard Communication, Material Handling. Environmental Compliance: Air Quality & Emissions, Energy Management, Solid & Hazardous Waste, Wastewater/Stormwater Management, Above- & Underground Storage Tank Management.
