Quality Control Technician

Location: Brighton Pay: $24/hr Shift: 3rd, OT may be required Are you experienced in precision machining and familiar with inspection tools like CMM, Optical Comparators, and hand gauges? Do you enjoy working in a small-lot, custom machining environment where attention to detail is key? Our client is seeking a Quality Control Technician with strong blueprint reading skills and experience in a machine shop settingnot high-volume manufacturing. If thats you, apply today! Duties:

Perform mechanical inspection of both in-process and final products according to company procedures Read and interpret blueprints and work orders to verify material and dimensional accuracy Utilize a wide range of inspection tools, including: Micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, Tri-check gauges, Sunnen bore gauges, pin gauges, height gauges, Microscopes, optical comparators, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) Check surface finishes using visual comparison tools and profilometers Perform visual inspections to ensure products meet customer specifications and cosmetic standards Apply math techniques to determine unspecified dimensions when necessary Conduct hardness testing using appropriate equipment Perform periodic in-process floor inspections to ensure compliance Document quality findings, including rejected materials or products Follow customer-specific or internal documentation procedures for sampling and inspection Train co-workers on quality control processes, as needed Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Notify supervisors of discrepancies, equipment issues, or safety concerns Complete all inspection documentation accurately and in a timely manner Perform other duties as assigned Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED Prior experience in a machining environment is strongly preferred Familiarity with low-volume, high-mix production environments Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) Experience operating (not programming) CMMs and Optical Comparators Skilled in using precision inspection equipment and visual inspection techniques Basic computer literacy and documentation skills Strong math aptitude and ability to work with fractions, decimals, and percentages Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail Work Environment:

Moderate noise level in a machine shop environment Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles Regular use of hands, standing, walking, and visual inspection Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally Specific vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and ability to see color Why Work for Qualified Staffing?
