Assistant Director Of Academic Success
The Assistant Director for Academic Success will work with the academic success team in the Fischli-Wills Center for Student Success and serve as the lead for FHSU Orientation programs. The Assistant Director will foster collaborative partnerships with units across the institution with the primary goal of cultivating a culture that embraces retention and academic success as an institutional shared responsibility. The successful candidates will need to be able to organize and plan projects and events effectively, handle multiple work priorities and the ability to exercise good communication and judgement. In addition, the successful candidates will be organized, enthusiastic, pay attention to detail and goal-orientated. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited, four-year college or university or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree 1 year of higher education experience Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree from an accredited, four-year college or university or 6 years experience in lieu of degree 3 years of higher education experience Experience with academic programs and support services. Responsibilities: Assist in the planning and execution of FHSU Orientation Programs (online and on-campus) Research and develop orientations for specialized populations Assist with program assessment and outcomes evaluation. Recruit and Train Orientation Leaders Provide Success Coaching to on-campus and online students. Utilize the FHSU's Early Tiger Alert (Navigate360) system. Create connections with departments, offices and groups across campus. Provide assistance to students and their family members throughout the student life cycle. Be knowledgeable about all aspects of the university admissions and registration process for students, including admissions policies and procedures, financial aid, costs, placement exams, course registration procedures, student housing etc. Some evening and weekend work is required. FHSU is located in Hays, a vibrant college town of approximately 20,000, located halfway between Kansas City and Denver on Interstate 70. Hays is the regional center for education, health care, professional services, shopping, culture, and recreation for the western half of Kansas. The community boasts excellent recreational programs and facilities, including the comprehensive Center for Health Improvement, Hays Aquatic Park, Smoky Hill Country Club, Hays Municipal Golf Course, and extensive walking, running, and biking trails. Hays is within 45 minutes of two large lakes that offer great opportunities for boating, fishing, and camping.
