Academic Program Specialist, Graduate School

Under the supervision of the Director, the Graduate School and Office of Research is looking for an individual to serve as an Academic Program Specialist. This on-campus position will coordinate front office operations, graduate assistantship hiring, and other administrative support tasks related to the department. The ideal candidate will have excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail. A successful candidate will have the ability to collaborate and work with a team, multitask and prioritize a variety of duties, work independently with good judgement and be a self-starter. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED equivalent. Two years of office or administrative experience (Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.) Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited institution or 4 years professional experience in lieu of degree Four years or more of office or administrative experience Customer service experience Experience in a college or university setting Supervisory experience Responsibilities In collaboration with other team members, process graduate applications for admission. Maintain security and confidentiality of all graduate student records. Work with the Director of the Graduate School to maintain the department budget by overseeing processes, accounts, ordering, and purchasing. Maintain office supplies and serve as a point of contact for service and maintenance requests. Manage the HR-related processes for the office, including hiring, payroll, and expense reimbursement. Interview, supervise, and train multiple student employees. Coordinate campus-wide graduate assistantship hiring, contracts, and related processes. Provide administrative support for the Graduate Council. Help support and carry out research events, including the Graduate Scholarly Experience (GSE), John Heinrichs Scholarly and Creative Activities Day (SACAD), Kansas Capital Graduate Research Summit, Kansas Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol, and Undergraduate Research Experience (URE). Additional duties, as assigned. Salary:
