About This Position: Position performs a broad range of maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, carpentry and related fields on buildings, facilities, furniture, equipment, appliances, etc. Work is mainly performed at DOTD Section 45, but may be performed at any of the HQ or satellite offices as needed. One year of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience: Three years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant; OR Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus one year of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant; OR Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses plus one year of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant. here . Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties: Leads and directs subordinates as advanced journeymen in plumbing and a wide range of repairman tasks, such as repairing office furniture, doors, walls, tractors, lawn mowers, and small machinery. Assures and compliance with the movement in/out of DOTD Administrative Building Complex and satellite offices. Leads and directs the custodial and grounds crews in day to day operation of the DOTD Facility. Directs the sequence of work, assigns tasks and keeps records of work projects, status updates, etc. in the absence of the Maintenance Foreman. Understands responsibility and responds to a wide range of problems in the absence of the Maintenance Foreman. Keeps logs on all equipment (use, status, and condition) for all lawn mowers, tractors, forklift, and trucks. Leads and directs the installation of ceiling tile and doors (door closer and locks, etc.). Operates necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks. Works with and assist crafts as necessary. Completes other job related assignments. Miscellaneous Duties: May be required to perform other duties as necessary including, but not limited to emergency/disaster support activities. Work may be performed in or out of doors in various weather conditions or at differing heights depending upon the nature of each assignment.
