Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant; OR Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering; OR Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses. here . Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties: Performs general maintenance and repairs such as repairing door closures, disassembling modular furniture's changing the configuration or relocation of furniture. Repairs desks, credenzas, cabinets, tables and chairs. Repairs lawnmowers, tractors, weed eaters and hedgers. Performs minor repairs on trucks, forklifts, carts and carpet dollies. Clean and replaces air condition filters. Performs general electrical work such as changing light fixtures, running conduit, pulling electrical wires and change light bulbs. Perform general plumbing repairs such as unstopping drain lines and replacing parts on hot water heaters, lavatories, urinals and toilets. Assists with installing drain lines. Assists other craft people with the construction of sheetrock walls and prepares sheetrock for painting. May be required to perform other duties as necessary, including but not limited to Emergency/Disaster support activities. Position-Specific Details:
Work Location: Work is mainly performed at DOTD HQ, but may be performed at any of the HQ satellite offices as needed. Work may be performed in or out of doors in a various weather conditions or at differing heights depending upon the nature of each assignment.
