Landscape Architect / Designer
Location: Mt Juliet, TN Position Type: Full-time, Hybrid (Remote/In-person) Pay: $80,000-$120,000 per year base salary, plus commission Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Landscape Architect / Designer to lead our client-facing design process on high-end residential landscape projects from initial consultation through final design, contract close, and estimating. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and business acumen to drive profitable sales and smooth project execution. Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary client contact during the design phase, building trust and guiding clients through the design journey. Conduct discovery calls and on-site consultations to understand client goals, site conditions, and budgets. Prepare detailed final designs and written proposals aligned with client expectations and operational feasibility. Create accurate estimates based on final designs, coordinating with operations and finance teams to ensure pricing aligns with company standards and profitability goals. Facilitate smooth sales-to-operations handoff by providing complete design packages and scope documentation. Educate clients on design options, materials, timelines, and budget realities to set clear expectations and reduce scope creep. Use CRM and project management tools (LMN, Monday.com) to track client interactions, design progress, and contract status. Qualifications
Degree or certification in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, or related experience. Minimum of 3 years experience as Landscape Architect or Designer. Must be able to effectively design and sell a minimum of $2m-$3m per year in residential designs. Strong skills in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Lumion, or similar) and estimating tools. Excellent communication and sales skills with a consultative approach. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently. Familiarity with landscape construction processes and materials. Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering buildable, profitable designs. Performance Metrics
Design-to-contract close rate (target > 70%) Average time from discovery to final design (target ? 21 days) Accuracy of estimates versus actual job costs Client satisfaction and referral rates Compensation
