Product Design & Process Improvement Engineer
We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Product Design and Process Improvement Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering, product development and hands-on shop work experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating innovative products, improving manufacturing processes and working with technologies such as sewing and RF sealing. Pay Range: $35
40/hr, dependent on experience. Responsibilities
Product Design and Development: Lead the design and development of new products from concept to production. Utilize CAD software to create detailed engineering drawings. Prototype and test new designs, ensuring they meet all functional and safety requirements. Process Improvement: Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement. Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to optimize efficiency and reduce waste. Develop and document new processes to enhance product quality and production speed. Manufacturing and Production: Oversee the production of prototypes and final products, ensuring adherence to design specifications. Work closely with the production team to ensure seamless transition from design to manufacturing. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the production process. Technical Expertise: Apply knowledge of sewing and RF sealing techniques to the design and manufacturing processes. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to incorporate into product designs. Provide technical support and training to production staff as needed. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales to ensure product designs/work packets meet customer needs and market demands. Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation and reports. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proven experience in product design and process improvement within a manufacturing environment. Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively. Excellent project management and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in prototyping and hands-on shop work. Preferred
