Aviation Structures Mechanic

In this role, you will be responsible for assembling aircraft sheet metal assemblies and subassemblies, including mating stress-critical joints. You will read and understand work orders, blueprints, sketches, and operation station sheets to determine the sequence of operations, fastener type size, and hole patterns. You will align and build assemblies and subassemblies on large, complex manufacturing jigs and fixtures. Responsibilities

Drill, countersink, dimple, ream, chamfer holes on complex structural assemblies for a variety of different fasteners with minimal quality defects. Effectively use all necessary hand/power tools, including portable riveting guns, pneumatic guns, pneumatic drills, countersinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, rivets, C-squeeze, ratchet wrench, nut runner, torque wrenches, crimpers, cable tools, and various other hand tools. Perform inspections and assessments, including inquiry and analysis of scrap damage, corrosion, or wear and tear of structures. Troubleshoot and rework all major discrepancies as necessary, acting as the primary point of contact for all repairs and modifications due to customer or design changes. Maintain designed tolerances, edge distance, and pitch per engineering requirements. Measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions and use check gauges to inspect holes and fastener tolerance. Apply sealants on structural components, such as fillet and fay seal, as required per engineering. Collaborate with Production Supervisor and engineering to implement modifications and upgrades to improve performance and safety. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills

Ability to read and understand blueprints. Level III or above skill in relevant areas. Experience in new build aircraft assembly. Proficiency in assembling new assemblies, picking, labelling, and warehouse inventory tracking. Additional Skills & Qualifications

Forklift operation. Inventory management and data entry skills. Cycle counts and material handling experience. RF scan gun proficiency. ERP knowledge. Shipping and receiving skills. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Prefer 4+ years of relevant experience. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
