Join a dynamic team dedicated to advancing aerospace technology as a CNC Programmer. This role involves developing, implementing, and troubleshooting CNC program designs, collaborating with various organizational functions to achieve project goals, and working closely with production to solve complex problems. Utilize strong analytical design and project management skills to meet customer requirements in a challenging and rewarding environment. Responsibilities: Prepare computer programs to control CNC machine operations using CAD/CAM terminal. Develop flow charts, documents, and sequence logic, and write complete sequences of machine operations necessary to complete cycles. Analyze engineering drawings for materials, process fabrication, and design elements. Specify patterns on programming sheets for the machining of parts. Ensure programs meet target cycle times and generate geometry to customer specifications. Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and tool path applications necessary to perform operations. Assist in the concept design of required tools and gauges, and support changes to existing tools and fixtures as improvements are identified. Support lean activities both within the Engineering group and across the organization. Collaborate with other departments and functions to achieve project goals and support customer needs and expectations at national and international levels. Essential Skills: Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline preferred and/or equivalent experience. Ten or more years of direct experience in multi-axis programming of Aerospace machining operations and materials. Proficiency in programming using appropriate programming languages, either via CAD/CAM terminal or manual generation. 3D modeling, sketching, assemblies, lathe, and drafting capability in Siemens PLM (NX 8.5) or later version. Experience with full multi-axis (5+) or partial (3+1) CNC machining/programming with lathes, milling machines, and mill/turns. Grinding experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills along with advanced interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Experience with CG Tech Vericut required. Some tool design experience preferred. Ability to debug programs and work closely with shop floor and inspection personnel. Knowledge of various cutting tools and holders to efficiently complete program operations. Team-oriented with the ability to work closely in a shop environment. Continuous improvement mindset, suggesting and encouraging innovative ideas to improve systems and processes. Work Environment: The work environment is characterized by a team of experienced CNC programmers, utilizing both NX Unigraphics and Mastercam software, with a focus on NX Unigraphics. The company has dedicated turning and milling programmers and is currently looking to expand its team to support the introduction of approximately 62 new products in development. The environment encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, offering a unique setup that supports both milling and turning operations. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $88000.00 - $120000.00/yr. This is a fully onsite position in Manchester,CT.
