Staff Accountant Position
The Staff Accountant position is responsible for providing analytical support to the Finance Director to ensure the accuracy and promptness of financial reporting & analysis while liaising with respective operations personnel and the organization's vendors and external auditors. Essential Functions: Responsible for maintaining the general ledger and subledgers Preparation and entering of journal entries and accruals Preparation/Review of various balance sheet support schedules Completing and reviewing month/year end close, generating financial statements and the organization's reporting package Generate departmental budget variance analysis for Finance Director review Assist with fixed asset management and maintain depreciation schedules Prepare/Review bank reconciliations for bank accounts Preparation/Compilation of various schedules for the budget Preparation of various audit schedules for year-end audit Performing monthly account reconciliations, including bank and GL accounts Preparing and distributing monthly reports to department heads Preparing monthly variance reports to compare actuals to forecast and annual budget by department Preparing the income statement and balance sheet variance explanations Performing special studies involving the research and analysis of financial data to recommend a course of action, explain trends, etc. performing related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: BS/BA degree in accounting or finance 3 - 4+ Years' Experience in Accounting MS Office Proficiency
