What You'll Do
The Accounting team is responsible for preparing accurate financial statements in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP, meeting our compliance requirements in the United States and abroad, and working with cross-functional teams to manage financial risks and support achieving Flatirons financial goals.
The Accounting Manager will be managing the company's audits, global consolidation and group reporting, local tax and financial compliance, account reconciliation, interpretation and implementation of relevant accounting guidance, internal control environment, and process improvement.
Lead the organizations audit and reporting functions, ensuring that the company's financial statements are prepared in compliance with all accounting standards, laws and regulations
Manage local tax and financial reporting in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan
Participate in the monthly financial closing for all Flatiron Health entities and provide timely and accurate financial information to management and Flatirons parent company
Manage accounting for expense recognition and capitalization, fixed assets, right-of-use assets, long-lived assets, accruals and stock-based compensation
Drive efficiencies in our transactional processing and month-end close through system and process enhancements
Develop and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting
Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process
Perform technical accounting research as needed. Document, communicate and implement recommendations and conclusions
Provide accounting support and guidance to the individual business units as part of the monthly close process
Oversee Senior Accountant, driving their career development, learning, and growth as professionals
Who You Are
You're a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who values the opportunity to think beyond the way things are. In addition, youre a creative thinker with 5 years of experience leading monthly financial close processes. You're excited by the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day.
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
Minimum 5 years experience with at least 3 years experience in Big Four or national public accounting firm
Strong knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS and understanding of financial statements preparation and management reporting
Experience leading and managing a global team
Experience designing, implementing and maintaining a strong internal control environment
Excellent communication skills and highly collaborative, able to interact professionally with people at all levels of the organization
Self-starter who proactively takes ownership of issues and ensures timely resolution in a fast-paced environment
Tech savvy and experienced in fostering financial system enhancements, ideally experience implementing financial systems
Extra Credit
Netsuite experience
UK GAAP, German GAAP, and / or Japanese GAAP knowledge a plus
Fluent in German or Japanese a plus
High-growth technology company experience
