Naval Undersea Warfare Center Engineering Support
This position will provide engineering and technical support for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT), Platform and Payload Integration Department Code 45. Code 45 is the lead in-service engineering, systems development, and payload integration activity for the submarine Weapon Launch and Handling Systems (WLHS), submarine Vertical Launch Systems (VLS), and select surface ship launcher systems. It is responsible for life-cycle support for the TOMAHAWK and Encapsulated HARPOON Weapon System (EHWS) programs and their related support equipment. The Launcher Systems and Payload Integration Division (Code 452) is formally assigned In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA), Design Agent (DA), Technical Direction Agent (TDA), Systems Integration Agent (SIA) and Acquisition Engineering Agent (AEA) duties for submarine weapons launching systems (horizontal and vertical) and their related mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, subsystems and components. The Missiles/Precision Strike Division (Code 451) is tasked with full life cycle support for cruise missile systems and their Peculiar Support Equipment for the Submarine-Launched TOMAHAWK Weapon System Program and the Encapsulated HARPOON Weapon System Program. Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree with ten (10) years or more experience. Three or more years of additional relevant engineering experience from military or private sector may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree. Experience applying MIL STDs in the accomplishment of a variety of engineering duties. Ability to read military drawings and to apply engineering changes to drawings and other technical documentation. Experience operating, maintaining, testing, or analyzing weapons systems or complex mechanical or software systems especially those mentioned above. Excellent communications skills and the ability to work independently and/or with members of integrated project teams in the accomplishment of technical task objectives. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with submarine launchers, weapon handling and stowage systems. Master's Degree in an engineering discipline. Previous experience supporting engineering tasks in support of NUWCDIVNPT Code 45 is a plus.
