A complete list of rankings can be found at: https://www.nursing.pitt.edu/about/our-rankings The Assistant Director of Communications will be responsible for advancing the School of Nursing's national and international reputation through media placements, print and digital communications and other strategic communication endeavors. This role will be responsible for identifying, planning, developing and implementing the communication and public relations efforts for the School of Nursing. Excellent creativity, writing skills, grammar, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, flexibility, accuracy, and computer literacy are required. Extensive experience with the latest digital communication technologies, social media strategy and best practices, and knowledge of Google Analytics is needed. The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines is essential. Individual must be able to attend meetings and events, both on and off campus, including occasional evenings and weekends. All candidates must submit a cover letter, resume, and three writing samples, or a link to their online portfolio. Job Summary Interviewing targeted candidates, writing, editing, proofreading, and production of School of Nursing internal/external publications, brochures, newsletters, advertisements, flyers, and alumni magazines; Creating award nomination materials for faculty, students, and alumni geared toward increasing the prestige of the University; Writing scripts for events and other activities; Identifying newsworthy items within the School and coordinating with the media. Coordinating media interviews and tracking/promotion of external alumni activities; Responsible for creating a strategic plan, creating content, and implementing the content on the School's social media accounts, and other electronic communications. Designing and placing ads and digital/online materials; Writing content and other tasks in association with the School of Nursing's website; Extensive experience with the latest digital communication technologies, social media trends, and knowledge of Google Analytics. Extensive experience writing across various platforms for multiple audiences. Excellent creativity, writing skills, grammar, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, flexibility, accuracy, and computer literacy are required. Maintain graphic identity and guidelines for School of Nursing materials. Managing multiple projects, setting priorities, creating timelines, and meeting deadlines is essential. Physical Effort The position is primarily sedentary, however there will be walking to attend on-campus events and driving to frequently attend off-campus events. Employee may need to lift 30 pounds.
