Schedule: 12 or 13 hour shifts (days, evenings, or nights) 7 days/week Job Specific Duties: Provide a full range of EMT services within the MTF and supported geographical area. Performs a full range of clinical support and ambulance services on site at the MTF and in the field when performing ambulance emergency or in-flight response, transfer, or transport services. Provide the patient with the necessary and appropriate medical care, consistent with ambulance equipment and supplies, and personnel certification, training, and experience during transport. Control and properly dispose of all medical waste incurred during transport. Conduct routine restocking, cleaning, and disinfection of the vehicle, equipment, and supplies. Document all treatment provided to the patient during the patient transport. Ensure the ambulances are safe to operate, sanitary, and properly functioning. Rapidly stabilizing the patient, according to Advance Life Support (ALS) protocol and EMS written protocols. Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment facility. Provide care within ethical and legal boundaries. Lift, place, and deliver patients to the receiving destinations for medical care. Place patients on monitors, administer needles, IVs, oxygen, or dressings. Carry patient records or baggage/belongings to the destination for patient care. Redress patient's wounds. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduate from an accredited NREMT program. General Knowledge: Must be knowledgeable in anatomy and physiology; Emergency medical treatment to include CPR; Aseptic and surgical technique; Infection control, communicable diseases; Medical ethics and legal aspects; Operation and maintenance of therapeutic equipment; Medical terminology; Transportation of the sick and injured; Disaster preparedness procedures; hospital and prehospital protocols in order to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care of patients in hospital and pre-hospital settings. Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Basic Life Support (BLS) is required, Advanced Life Support (ALS or ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Certifications must be through American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines. Members must present proof of current certification(s) through American Health Association or American Red Cross. Computer-based training does not constitute fulfilling the training requirements. Possess and maintain certification as an NREMT, NRAEMT, NRP from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) or applicable state EMT certification. Must possess a current ambulance driver's license. Must maintain currency at NO cost to the government. Experience: One (1) year of full-time experience within the last three (3) years as an ambulance crew member, as an EMT, NREMT, NRAEMT or NRP. Licensure/Registration: Possess and maintain certification as an NREMT, NRAEMT, NRP from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) or applicable state EMT certification. Security: Must be a US Citizen and must be able eligible to obtain a NACI (T1) security clearance.
