Chief Estimator

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Estimator to join our Preconstruction team in Tigard. This role is pivotal in overseeing the entire estimating process, ensuring accurate and competitive bids that drive the company's growth. With a focus on complex construction projects, the ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills and a proven track record of success in the commercial construction industry. Key Responsibilities

Lead the Estimating Process

Manage all aspects of the estimating process from initial bid solicitation to final submission. Develop and implement effective estimating procedures and best practices. Mentor and support junior estimators, fostering their professional growth. Prepare Accurate Estimates

Analyze project plans, specifications, and scope to create precise cost estimates. Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs across all trades including concrete, steel, and electrical. Research market conditions, material costs, and labor rates to inform estimates. Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success. Subcontractor Management

Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate bids from subcontractors. Manage subcontractor relationships to align with project goals. Perform subcontractor pre-qualification and selection processes. Proposal Development

Craft and submit professional, competitive bid proposals. Present proposals to clients, addressing any queries effectively. Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service. Business Development

Support business development by identifying and pursuing new project opportunities. Foster relationships with architects, engineers, and industry professionals. Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred. Over 10 years of experience as a Senior or Chief Estimator in commercial construction. Proven success in preparing accurate and competitive bids. In-depth understanding of construction materials, methods, and costs. Proficiency in estimating software such as Procore, HCSS, or Timberline, and Microsoft Office. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Leadership skills with a focus on mentoring and team development. Technology
