We're looking for a proactive and technically strong Engineering Technician

Calibration Systems to lead our Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiative

a high-visibility role with direct impact on equipment performance, production uptime, and team culture. In this position, you'll be responsible not only for performing preventative maintenance and calibrations yourself, but also for influencing and coaching others to maintain high standards. While you won't have direct reports, you'll be a key leader in shaping daily routines, promoting equipment care, and driving long-term reliability in our calibration systems. What You'll Do Lead our TPM program, setting and implementing standards to improve equipment efficiency and uptime.

Hands-on troubleshooting and repair of complex calibration systems involving electrical, mechanical, compressed air, plumbing, and thermal systems.

Perform and document preventative maintenance and daily equipment checks.

Train and influence other technicians to build a culture of ownership, cleanliness, and accountability.

Monitor and report on system performance and drive continuous improvements in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Support the setup, validation, and optimization of new calibration equipment and processes.

Why This Role Matters You'll work directly with leadership to make sure our calibration lab runs like a well-oiled machine. These systems are critical to the precise measurements we provide for physical oceanographic, biogeochemical, and optical instruments

used in both deep ocean and freshwater environments. When our calibration equipment performs at its best, so do we. What You Bring 35 years of experience in a manufacturing, maintenance, or technical role.

Strong hands-on knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, cooling/heating, and plumbing systems.

Ability to read schematics and technical drawings.

Experience or familiarity with TPM, and the ability to coach others on best practices.

Comfort working independently and leading by example.

Strong communication and influencing skills

you're good at getting others on board with process and culture changes.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Experience with manual machining (lathe/mill).

Familiarity with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD tools.

This is a full-time, onsite role in Bellevue, WA.
