This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: The Madison Club, set outside of La Quinta, CA. The Madison Club is seeking a Spa Manager to join the Wellness Department. The Spa Manager is the primary leader of the spa, responsible for overseeing daily operations, delivering the highest standards of service and treatments, driving revenue, and cultivating a team culture that embodies Discovery Land Company's vision of exceptional, transformative wellness. Above all, the Spa Manager ensures every member experience is unlike any other; personalized, memorable, and rooted in genuine care. Responsibilities include: Provide overall leadership for the spa, ensuring the highest quality of spa and beauty treatments to exceed member expectations and satisfaction. Manage daily spa operations, including front desk, attendants, therapists, retail, and facility maintenance, ensuring all procedures and standards are consistently upheld. Hire, train, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of front desk staff, attendants, and therapists who deliver warm, authentic service to every member. Maintain and update the Spa Procedures Manual, ensuring full compliance across the team. Daily review of staffing and operations to maximize treatment availability, optimize scheduling, drive sales and member satisfaction. Monitor team performance and deliver regular training, using tools like role-playing to maintain exceptional service standards. Anticipate, identify, and fulfill each member's needs in a thoughtful and proactive way. Guide staff to be caring problem solvers who are cooperative, accommodating, and here for the member. Reinforce company policies daily to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and service. Be visibly present in the public areas to connect with members and build relationships. Coordinate spa services and wellness programs for member groups, ensuring smooth and elevated experiences. Create and deliver wellness events, retreats and pop-ups to engage the member. Create, manage, and monitor staff schedules to maximize revenue and control labor costs. Oversee retail operations, including product sales, inventory control, and vendor orders to achieve budget goals. Manage supplies and equipment inventories responsibly and within budget. Monitor sales performance and apply best practices to drive profitability and minimize losses. Ensure all employees have the proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms for daily operations. Maintain compliance with state and federal health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Collaborate with other property departments, actively participating in daily and weekly management meetings and supporting overall operations as needed. Create and oversee a welcoming locker room experience: greet members, assist with locker assignment, provide orientation to spa amenities, and direct them to changing and bathing areas. Oversee day-to-day operations in locker room, ensuring staff uphold cleanliness and service standards. Monitor inventory of toiletries, linens, refreshments, and guest supplies; coordinate timely restocking and laundry. Assists with Fitness facility and operations as needed and serves as Manager on Duty. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in related field preferred. Three (3) years minimum experience supervising staff. In-depth knowledge of fitness, health, and wellness profession. Extensive background/experience in the Spa and Wellness industry. Active proponent of health and wellness. Additional Requirements: Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members. Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds. Benefits: The annual salary for this role is between $90,000 and $100,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
