Junior Steel Estimator
GPAC is actively recruiting on behalf of a well-established steel fabrication and erection company known for delivering high-quality structural and miscellaneous metalwork. We are seeking a Junior Steel Estimator to support the pre-construction team by assisting in preparing bids and estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects. This is a full-time, direct-hire position designed for someone with up to 1 year of experience who is eager to learn and grow within a collaborative and detail-oriented team. Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing cost estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals (stairs, railings, catwalks, etc.) Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents under supervision Perform material takeoffs and help generate quantity estimates Support vendor and subcontractor pricing requests Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams Learn to use industry-standard estimating software to help prepare proposals Participate in bid reviews and value-engineering discussions as a team member Track project changes and update estimates with guidance Qualifications
Up to 1 year of experience in estimating or related field, preferably in steel fabrication or erection Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings related to metalwork Basic understanding of metals and metal fabrication processes Willingness to learn and develop estimating skills Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and eagerness to collaborate Preferred Qualifications
Coursework or training in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (not required) Hands-on experience or exposure to steel fabrication or erection processes is a plus Interest in learning industry-related software such as Tekla, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Fabtrol, or similar tools What Our Client Offers
