About the Opportunity: GPAC is actively recruiting on behalf of a well-established steel fabrication and erection company known for delivering high-quality structural and miscellaneous metalwork. We are seeking an experienced Steel Estimator to support pre-construction efforts by preparing accurate and competitive bids for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects. This is a full-time, direct-hire position offering strong growth potential and the opportunity to work with a collaborative, detail-oriented team. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals (e.g., stairs, railings, catwalks). Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents. Perform material takeoffs and generate accurate quantity estimates. Solicite vendor and subcontractor pricing for materials and services. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams. Utilize industry-standard estimating software to generate proposals and bid packages. Participate in bid reviews and value-engineering discussions. Track project changes and adjust estimates accordingly. Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in steel fabrication and/or erection. Strong knowledge of structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals is required. Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings. Comfortable using industry-related software such as Tekla, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Fabtrol, or similar platforms. Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word). Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and time management skills. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred, not required). Field experience in steel erection or fabrication is a strong plus. Familiarity with project management workflows and fabrication processes.
