Position OverviewThe Operations Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient daily functioning of DC Scholars PCS. This position provides core support to the Associate Director of Operations in managing facilities, logistics, meal services, vendor coordination, supplies, and compliance. The Operations Coordinator works cross-functionally with operations, instructional teams, and external partners to maintain a safe, welcoming, and productive school environment.Key ResponsibilitiesFacilities ManagementConduct daily school walk throughs to identify needed maintenance and repairs, check classroom temperatures. Respond to issues as needed, and flag larger maintenance projects for the Associate Director of Operations Coordinate day-to-day facility needs: cleaning schedules, work orders, repairsMonitor and track completion of facility requests with vendors and internal staffAssist in seasonal facility preparation projects (e.g., summer readiness, winter protocols, school year closeout)Operations & LogisticsCoordinate building access management-keys, badges, visitor screening proceduresProvide logistical support for school-wide events, assessment periods, and high-traffic timesSupport set up and break down for special events Coordinate with catering vendors to set up food for family, staff, and board events Vendor & Compliance SupportMaintain organized documentation and contracts for facilities and food service vendorsTrack schedules for inspections and mandated safety compliance tasks (e.g., fire drills, HVAC servicing, pest control)When vendors are on campus, provide them with building access and monitor their progress Team Support & ResponsivenessRespond to urgent operational issues during school hoursProvide backup coverage for front desk, reception, and meal service teams as neededCollaborate with the operations team to refine workflows and anticipate evolving school needsSchool arrival and dismissal duty Communicate schoolwide operations updates and needs (e.g. elevator outage, repair timelines) with stakeholders Provide direct support to Associate Director of Operations Other duties as assigned Ideal Candidate ProfileExceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and proactiveStrong follow-through and responsiveness to multiple stakeholdersComfortable multitasking in dynamic or fast-paced environmentsExcellent written and verbal communicationService-oriented with a collaborative, team-first mindsetProficient with basic technology tools (Google Workspace, email, work-order systems)MindsetPassion for educational equity and a commitment to the mission and vision of DC ScholarsStrong alignment with DC Scholars' Core Values: High Bar, Passion & Persistence, Hope, Humility & Growth, and TrustCollaborative leadership styleHigh standards of excellence for self and for othersEvidence of well-developed emotional intelligence and empathyQualifications2+ years of relevant experience in facilities, school operations, or administrative coordinationHigh school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferredSpanish proficiency is a plusPhysical stamina for standing during the day and lifting up to 25 lbsThe RewardsOpportunity to work in an exciting and enjoyable environment that fosters strong family relationships and community partnershipsTargeted professional development focused on bolstering leadership capabilities Supportive and Caring CommunityCompetitive salariesHighly Competitive Benefits Packages including:403B Retirement Plan with matching contributionsMedical/Dental/Vision InsuranceEAP Employee Discount through Life Mart Salary DetailsThe salary range for this role is $55,000 to $75,000 annually in alignment with DC Scholars Coordinator salary band and our compensation philosophy.
