TheOperations Coordinator is responsible for developing internal communication protocols,streamlining administrative procedures, inventory control, office staff supervision, andduties as assigned.The position is a full-time, salaried, 12-month position and will reportto the Chief Operating Officer. The salary range for the Operations Coordinator position is $60,000-66,000 / year.Primary job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:•School Leadership: Works with school leadership to support goals, create awelcoming and team-oriented atmosphere, and build an open and honest culture inline with Meridian's values.•Finance and Purchasing: Purchases standard needs of the school's general supplies,using the school-based purchasing process, placing orders and tracking deliveries.•Student Services: Supports day-of logistics (e.g. transportation, meals, staffing plan,etc.) of off-site field trips and all on-site special events (Report Card Nights,performances, student and staff celebrations, etc.)•Student Information Technology and Testing: Maintains accurate student data andinformation in compliance with federal, state, regional and school expectations.Ensure 100% on-time and complete daily attendance submissions and ongoingmonitoring of technology needs.•Student Recruitment and Enrollment: Assist with supporting student enrollmentgoals and retention processes. Help create and distribute school newsletters,surveys, and other notifications. Assist with school events such as ParentOrientation and Open House. Produce welcome and orientation packets forprospective and new families. Assist with collecting enrollment paperwork for newand returning students.•General School Operations: Oversee all logistics for school-wide events, student datacollection, and inventory management. Assist the communications associate withdeveloping and distributing family communication materials when needed. Advocatefor all policies, procedures, and communications across the school community todrive student outcomes. Ensure operational excellence and high level of detail in allareas of operations, to include school aesthetics, school health and safety protocols;as well as establish and maintain successful relationships to drive the goals of ourschool community.•School Safety and Security: Support the network point of contact with all safetymeasures and security needs for the assigned campus.•Substitute Management: Oversee all logistics and serve as the point of contact withthe substitute agencies to secure substitutes for ongoing daily school needs.•Management of Front Desk: Serves as the first point of contact for all visitors to theschool including vendors, community officials, parents and/or families entering thecampus. Operates the phone system to ensure calls are routed to the correct person.•Confidentiality and Organization Skills: This person will need to be able to secure allinformation that is deemed confidential as it relates to school matters and the ability toensure all items are organized and filed in a timely manner.QUALIFICATIONSRequired Knowledge and Skills•Excellent communication skills, and the ability to communicate persuasively inpositive and negative situations•Capacity to accept feedback from others, make decisions, and exhibit sound andaccurate judgment•Able to work independently or with others in a team approachIdeal candidates will have the following education and experience:•Associate's degree or equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred, and/or•Minimum of five years of experience working in a non-profit organization inOperations/Business Administration or Finance•Bilingual in Spanish (speaking/writing) is preferred•Work comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds•Excellent organizational skills and timely completion of tasks•Math Aptitude: comfort with numbers and accounts payable•Knowledge and experience using Windows, Internet Explorer and MicrosoftApplications including Word, PowerPoint, and Google Documents•Conscientiousness: Understanding that everything going out the door matters to thecustomer; striving for excellence•Solid writing skills•Customer Orientation: Good customer service skills with internal and externalcustomers, attention to detail•Dedication: Being persistent, punctual and dependable, with a positive, can-doattitude•Sense of Urgency: understanding the urgency of situations and address matterspromptly•Flexibility/Adaptability: open to change and to considerable variety in theworkplace•Honesty: trustworthiness with company resources and information•Completing Administration of Medication and EpiPen Training through DC PublicCharter School Board within the first 90 days of employmentPhysical Demands of the PositionThese physical characteristics are representative of those that must be met by an employeeto successfully perform the essential functions of this job safely.
