Senior Counsel, Global Investigations

The Senior Counsel, Global Investigations will be part of a world-class team leading government, regulatory, and significant internal investigations for GE Vernova. The role will be part of the GE Vernova Global Legal Investigations team and work with functional and business colleagues globally, with a focus on work in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. This role will report to the Executive Counsel, Global Legal Investigations for GE Vernova. Roles and responsibilities include: Manage matters and legal strategy for government/regulatory investigations and internal investigations globally (with a focus on the Middle East, Africa, and Europe) that could raise legal, financial, or reputational risk for the company. Engage with internal stakeholders across different functions and businesses as well as external stakeholders, including government agencies and regulators. Drive process standardization and efficiencies in matter management, reporting, budgeting, oversight of outside counsel, and digital forensic/e-discovery processes. Identify emerging issues, trends, and risk, and partner closely with Compliance leaders and functional and business stakeholders to highlight emerging issues and trends, define process improvements, and help with training and messaging initiatives. Provide regular case updates to the team as well as business leaders and key stakeholders through template-based and data-driven reporting. Partner with the Ethics & Compliance leaders to identify trends in cases, outcomes, root causes, etc., provide relevant data and reports, and ensure relevant business teams are informed, aligned, and able to take appropriate and timely corrective action. Support and deliver training on investigative techniques, compliance topics, and legal and regulatory issues. Leverage both internal and external expertise. Ensure all investigations are conducted in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory, and policy requirements, particularly those related to labor laws, information security, and privacy. Required qualifications include: J.D. from a U.S.-accredited law school 6+ years government enforcement experience or white-collar defense experience in the private sector Investigative experience in one or more of the following areas: anti-corruption laws in the United States and internationally, trade controls/sanctions, anti-trust, anti-money laundering, intellectual property theft/economic espionage/computer crimes, complex fraud, revenue recognition and financial crimes, government contract compliance, privacy Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize facts and data and draw and convey reasonable conclusions Excellent communication skills, including excellent writing skills and clear, concise oral presentation skills Collaborative team player who can work effectively and coordinate closely with others across the company Ability to work independently in an evolving, fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects while maintaining a high quality of work High level of cultural sensitivity, flexibility, and emotional intelligence in order to work effectively within GE Vernova's global environment. Desired characteristics include: Internal investigations experience at a multi-national company Strong investigative experience in a common law or civil law jurisdiction and exposure to working in diverse, complex markets Strong working knowledge of regulatory and compliance laws in particular in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe 2nd language skill (Arabic or French) Experience in and understanding of the energy/power generation sector and products Compensation grade SPB1.
