This role is designed to serve as a single point of contact for our customers by integrating key supply chain functions, including material planning, customer service, purchasing, and supplier development, into one dynamic position. The purpose of this role is to drive customer satisfaction and operational efficiency by leading forecasting collaboration, managing order fulfillment, coordinating procurement activities, and overseeing production planning. This position also plays a critical role in supply chain performance management through scorecard oversight and continuous improvement initiatives. As a growth-focused role, it offers a strong foundation for individuals aspiring to advance into leadership within Acme's supply chain organization. Job duties: Responsible for owning the customer relationship from contract review through shipping with a handful of customers. Makes the best use of ACME resources with effective utilization of production capacity and supplier capabilities while strategically utilizing inventory. Responsible for the integrity and maintenance of master data within the ERP system. Responsible for coordinating and ensuring customer communication (sometimes through others) on issues and complaints. Responsible for material throughout the supply chain (during all steps of the process) to ensure on-time, accurate delivery. Participates in the process of maintaining effective vendor relationships for raw materials and services to support customers Recognizes constraints of meeting customer needs and plans accordingly to maximize customer service and meet shipping goals. Ensure that customer expectations and requirements are met; resolve conflicts concerning material. Enter customer purchase and change orders into the ERP. Review and confirm all customer orders for accuracy and Acme's ability to meet requested dates (contract review). Communicate with and for customers when necessary to advise shipment delays and/or information necessary to process. Answer customer questions and coordinate the flow of information between the customer and appropriate Acme staff. Lead the process of maintaining and monitoring Electronic Data Interchange for established customers. Expedite customer orders through manufacturing. Own the process of supplier development, including scorecard management and occasional travel to develop and improve supplier performance and relationships. Drives the process of ERP usage and continuous improvement, including but not limited to scheduling, workorder management, material movement, inventory performance, parameter optimization, etc. Performs other related duties as required. The Right Person/What we need from you: Associate or bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations management, or supply chain or the equivalent of a combination of education and experience in purchasing, planning, and/or customer service. A robust mix of ERP planning, purchasing, and customer service experience in a durable goods manufacturing organization is preferred. Previous experience with complex forgings and castings, as well as AS9100 subcontracting, is preferable. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress. Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation without direct authority. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills (English). Must possess solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities. Computer literacy in ERP and MS Office applications.
