FBI Hi-Tech Organized Crime Unit (HTOCU) Support
Navanti is seeking a technically skilled and mission-oriented Computer Scientist to support the FBI's Hi-Tech Organized Crime Unit (HTOCU) at FBI Headquarters. This role directly contributes to high-stakes national security and criminal investigations by enabling advanced analytics and technical infrastructure critical to digital crime enforcement. The selected candidate will be a core contributor to two investigative teams: the Joint Criminal Opioid and Darknet Enforcement (JCODE) Team and the Mobile Encrypted Networks and Communications Exploitation (MENACE) Team. These units combat emerging threats through deep data analysis, technical innovation, and interagency collaboration. This position is central to supporting FBI capabilities in confronting encrypted communications, darknet activities, and cyber-enabled organized crime. All work will be performed onsite at FBI Headquarters and requires an active Top Secret clearance with CI Polygraph. Core Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and deploy analytic systems to process, manage, and visualize large datasets from a range of investigative sources. Provide technical support for complex investigative programs focused on darknet activities and encrypted communications. Evaluate and recommend infrastructure improvements for analytic and visualization tools. Work with distributed development environments and tools, including version control (Git), databases, and cloud platforms. Present technical findings and demonstrate developed tools to FBI stakeholders and mission partners. Technical Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Minimum of 3 years of experience developing analytic tools in a data-driven or intelligence environment. Proficiency in:
Java (2+ years) AWS (1+ year) Linux operating systems Database management systems Git and version control workflows
Active Top Secret clearance with CI polygraph is required. Preferred Qualifications
Experience deploying containerized applications and managing orchestration with Kubernetes or similar frameworks. Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or AWS Cloud Practitioner. Familiarity with cloud-native development practices and security-conscious architecture design.
