The Innovation and Technology Department (ITD) is accepting applications for Senior Network Support Analyst for the Enterprise Infrastructure Division. This position requires extensive knowledge and expertise to support County Wide Area Networks and Local Area Networks for the Innovation and Technology Department (ITD). The Senior Network Support Analyst assumes a County-wide role for advanced routing, enterprise switching, and wireless networks with developing best practices in meeting specific network design goals. The position is responsible for configuring, installing, and supporting enterprise class networking hardware, software and other networking resources; troubleshooting performance and security issues and using the latest networking diagnostics tools. This is the advanced working level in the Systems Support Analyst series. Incumbents in this class are expected to have advanced level knowledge in Layer3 and Layer2 networking and best practices. Availability: Must be available to work On-Call in a 24 hours/7 days a week environment. Incumbents may occasionally work evenings, weekends, and holiday hours. Physical: Position requires multiple repetitive motions and the ability to lift at least 50 pounds. Travel: Travel throughout the county may be required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation. Required Experience: Three (3) years of work experience, within the last five (5) years, working with or troubleshooting enterprise class networks, which includes experience with configuring switches and/or routers. Must include experience in at least three (3) of the following system technologies: Network Architecture (Ethernet Circuits, Local Area Networks, etc.) Wireless Network Platforms (Wireless Access Points, etc.) Network Router and Switch Platforms (Cisco Catalyst, ISR, Nexus, etc.) Routing Protocols (Static, EIGRP, etc.) Network Security Platforms (VPN, Firewalls, etc.) Required Education: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed, post high-school coursework from an accredited university or technical school in Computer Information Systems, Business/Public Administration, or a closely related field. A list of coursework must be submitted with the application. Substitution: One (1) additional year of qualifying work experience may substitute for the education requirement. Desired Qualifications
