The Chemical and Materials Engineering (CME) Department at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Position: Interfacial Hydrodynamic System Development. We are seeking a dedicated and innovative researcher who would be able to combine interfacial science with microdevice manufacturing research to find pathways to solve water challenges
i.e., contamination and real-time detection. This position is unique and open to candidates with prior background in interfacial chemistry, microfluidics, 2D thin films, and advanced manufacturing. The research might lead to new knowledge or technology and industry collaborations. Also, the part-time position can be changed to a full-time position based on experience and funding availabilities. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in chemistry or chemical engineering or related field. Completion of a doctoral degree in the appropriate discipline is required. The doctoral degree must have been completed within the five years immediately preceding the first date of appointment as a postdoctoral fellow at the University. The individual cannot have held previous positions in the professional ranks. Preferred Qualifications: Strong background in interfacial science, thin film engineering, thin film characterization Strong background in SEM, FIB, EDS, RAMAN, LC-MS/MS, and FTIR Proficiency in data analysis and data modeling Excellent written and communication skills with demonstrated records of publications. Strong motivation and dedication to discovery-based scientific research. Compensation Grade: Postdoctoral Scholar. Salary is competitive and commensurate with related education and experience.
