Revenue Cycle Optimization Consultant
Seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Optimization Consultant to support post-live activities for healthcare organizations following EHR implementation. This role focuses on identifying and executing improvements across the revenue cycle, using data-driven insights and operational knowledge to enhance financial performance, streamline workflows, and ensure system optimization. Key Responsibilities: Lead revenue cycle assessments post-EHR implementation (Epic, Cerner, or other platforms) to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Collaborate with end-users, operational leaders, and IT teams to evaluate current-state workflows and system utilization. Analyze KPIs (e.g., AR days, denial rates, charge lag, cash collections) to prioritize optimization efforts. Configure system changes or enhancements in coordination with application analysts and build teams. Design and deliver workflow improvements, training refreshers, and documentation updates based on user feedback and best practices. Monitor optimization outcomes and adjust strategies to sustain improvements. Provide expert-level troubleshooting support for post-live billing, coding, charge capture, claim edits, and remittance workflows. Serve as a liaison between revenue cycle operations and IT to ensure alignment and effective communication. Participate in governance meetings, user groups, and steering committees to report progress and recommend further changes. Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations, with 2+ years focused on post-live optimization. Experience with Epic (e.g., Resolute PB/HB, SBO, Charge Router), Cerner, or comparable EHR systems. Strong knowledge of billing, coding, reimbursement methodologies, and payer requirements. Demonstrated success in driving measurable improvements in revenue cycle performance. Excellent communication, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills. Preferred: Epic certification in Resolute Professional Billing, Hospital Billing, or Charge Router. Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certification. Experience supporting multi-entity healthcare systems or enterprise-level EHR rollouts.
