Library Public Services Coordinator 2 within the Health Sciences Library providing public services to the customers of the Health Sciences Library; opens library and oversees morning operations Monday-Friday; assists in the training of student employees; assists in developing and implementing unit policies. Provides a high level of customer service that requires complex problem-solving skills. Performs circulation functions; provides instruction to customers on locating and accessing library materials and resources and using library technology and equipment; provides basic reference assistance; assists with preparing library materials for mail delivery. Resolves customer fine appeals. M

anages reserve collections including print materials, equipment, bones, and models.

Works in partnership with the Research and Education department; works independently and collaboratively to develop educational resources on complex topics; coordinates workshops; analyzes and interprets data; teaches workshops related to library services and resources; collaborates with HSL librarians on additional projects as needed. Acts as liaison between the Research and Education and Public Services departments; may train Public Services staff on new or advanced resources and services. Flexibility in working days and times is required. Minimum Education Required Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Required Qualifications 2 years of relevant experience required; strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills with ability to work creatively both independently and collaboratively with diverse groups; excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with proven success in independently prioritizing work, analyzing information and managing competing deadlines; excellent written and oral communications skills. Desired Qualifications 2-4 year's experience working in an academic library preferred; familiarity with technology including ability to create web based and multi-media instructional modules; course work, experience or demonstrated knowledge of health sciences or STEM databases and resources; knowledge of current academic scholarly communication principles preferred.
