Sanitation Supervisor/Hygienist

The Sanitation Supervisor/Hygienist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant sanitation, housekeeping, and pest control across both production and non-production areas. This includes maintaining the entire facility at a high standard, striving for a score of 99% or better on all external audits. This position leads the Sanitation Department and is tasked with planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling all activities within this functional area. The goal is to align with production and other business unit strategies and objectives, while promoting continuous improvement to meet and exceed internal, regulatory, and customer expectations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Promotes a safer work environment. Develops, maintains, and improves safety programs within the team. Develops training programs to increase the overall knowledge and understanding of Sanitation programs; Pest control, SSOPs, EMP, CIP Validation, and MSS. Plans, organizes, assigns daily work, and directs all activities of the sanitation team. Maintains the master sanitation schedule. Develops sanitation and pest control SOP's and SSOP's, and trains the team to these documents. Understands SQF systems and manages the programs and team in compliance with the code. Represents the plant as the procedural expert to internal and external auditors; Manages audit findings through investigation, correction, and responds to auditors. Provide sanitation staff with the required operational and safety training, and document this training for third-party audits. Store and maintain all sanitation documents, pest control records, SOPs, maps, MSDS, etc., and present to auditors as requested. Responsible for monitoring, verification, and validation of sanitation and quality programs Engages pertinent department members to investigate issues; participates in cross-functional problem-solving teams Assures sanitation deficiencies are corrected in a timely and appropriate manner; Food or Personnel Safety issues are corrected immediately or mitigated effectively; Long-term corrective actions or improvement suggestions are planned and monitored through resolution. Validated that corrective actions were effective Determines resources and provides technical guidance and leadership to plant personnel Seeks and utilizes expertise from Platform Sanitation, Sanitation Chemical providers, Pest Control Service Providers, equipment manufacturers, and developments in the field Provide sanitary design review and recommendations. Sanitation plan and verification procedures for new and/or modified equipment, new equipment start-ups, new product introductions, movement of equipment from one facility to another, or new product introductions to prevent problems resulting from inadequate sanitation procedures. Validate that equipment modifications or new equipment can be effectively cleaned and sanitized to a food-safe microbial level. Develop, participate, and track sanitation business goals to include improving sanitation cleaning effectiveness, the environmental monitoring program, and adherence to the master sanitation schedule Performs other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience: Associate degree with additional vocational courses in Sanitation. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Preferred current State of California Pesticide Applicators Certificate 3

Annual Cash Bonus: You will be eligible to participate in the Gehl Foods Employee Bonus Program. For this fiscal year, your annual maximum bonus potential is up to 12% of your annualized base salary.
