Job Summary: We are currently looking for a Director of Investment Accounting in either our Warren, New Jersey headquarters or our New York City office. This is a hybrid position working 3 days in office, 2 remote. In this role, you will interact and support several aspects of accounting, financial analysis, and reporting for the group. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Accounting and reporting of investments on a U.S. GAAP and U.S. Statutory basis. Support the management of the monthly and quarterly investment close process. Preparation and or review of various U. S. statutory investment schedules. Preparation and or review of various U.S. GAAP investment disclosures. Supervision of the reconciliation of investment related cash accounts. Support local reporting of foreign branches and subsidiaries. Coordinate with financial reporting and investment management teams. Establishing and maintaining internal controls. Research accounting issues for new investment structures and coordinate any changes required in workflow and operations. Assist with the review of fair value of investments and related impairment analysis. Providing monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses along with account reconciliations. Assist with ad-hoc analyses and strategic projects determined by the needs of senior management. Work Experience and Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in investment accounting; public accounting and public company reporting environment a plus. Solid understanding of investment accounting and reporting under U.S. GAAP. Experience with U.S. insurance statutory accounting and reporting a plus. Leadership skills and ability to motivate and develop staff. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly skilled in math, accounting, and financial processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Detail oriented and highly organized. Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks. Highly proficient with Excel. Excellent critical thinking skills. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent degree) in accounting. Certified Public Accountant (or equivalent certification) preferred. Knowledge of PAM and Bloomberg a plus. Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Oracle a plus. Insurance/ reinsurance industry experience a plus. For NJ and NY Only: The base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $165,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
