Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ethics Subject Matter Expert (SME)
CeLeen, an operating firm of Command Holdings, is seeking an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ethics Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a potential opportunity with the Office of the Chief Digital & Artificial Intelligence Officer within the Department of Defense. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing support services to enable the Policy Directorate to lead the implementation of DoD Data, Analytics and AI Strategy and chair the DoD CDAO Council Governance structure. Leading the writing and review process for Responsible Artificial Intelligence (RAI) Policy for DoD. Leading the coordination of the Responsible AI Working Council, including developing content for the meetings, managing stakeholders, and coordinating meeting details. Maintaining effective working relationships with counterparts in the defense establishment, interagency environment, and with industry partners to advance AI governance initiatives. Advising OCDAO of international trends, advancements, and best practices in artificial intelligence specific to governance, ethics, privacy, fairness, and social responsibility. This position is contingent on contract award. Work Environment: Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and/or occasional loud noise (airfield, large equipment). Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Physical Demands: While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear. Employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Travel: 0-10% / Minimal travel. Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited university in Applied Ethics, Artificial Intelligence Ethics, Data Ethics or a related field. Current, active TS with the ability to obtain SCI access. 8 years of related IT experience, 5 of which must be in artificial intelligence. 2 years of experience and disciplinary expertise in cybersecurity, human factor, ethics and policy. 2 years of experience designing and running Responsible Artificial Intelligence (RAI) Tabletop Exercises. 2 years of experience conducting RAI Gaps analyses for the DoD and scoping Courses of Actions (COAs) and projects to address DoD RAI capability and process needs. Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus. Professional proficiency in English is required. Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications. Ability to access federal facilities in compliance with Real ID. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
