AI Ethics Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and advise on DoD-aligned ethical AI frameworks and governance structures. Conduct gap analyses and design strategic courses of action to strengthen RAI capabilities. Lead tabletop exercises to simulate ethical challenges in AI deployment. Integrate cybersecurity, ethics, and policy considerations into technical architectures. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across engineering, acquisition, and compliance. Prepare white papers, policy briefs, and ethics risk assessments for leadership. Ensure compliance with NIST standards and DoD RAI guidance across the AI lifecycle. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Applied Ethics, AI Ethics, Data Ethics, or a related field. Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility. 8+ years of IT experience, including 5 years in AI and 2+ years in ethics or human factors integration. 2+ years of experience conducting RAI gap assessments and designing COA plans for DoD. 2+ years of experience running Responsible AI tabletop exercises. Preferred Qualifications
