Marine Diesel Mechanic
Shipbuilding and repair company hiring for a Marine Diesel Mechanic. Maintenance, repair, and overhaul of diesel and propulsion engines for marine vessels. You will be involved in highly technical work, including pulling piston heads, fixing turbochargers, swapping cylinder heads, electric winding of motors, and aligning parts to precise tolerances. If you possess knowledge in light fabrication, machining, and welding, there are opportunities to apply these skills. Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel and propulsion engines for marine vessels. Conduct overhauls, including pulling piston heads and fixing turbochargers. Swap cylinder heads and perform electric winding of motors. Align engine parts to a 1000th tolerance. Engage in light fabrication, machining, and welding when applicable. Essential Skills
10+ years of experience as a marine diesel mechanic. Experience with large diesel engines. Knowledge of diesel, marine, and mechanic principles. TWIC card holder. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with 2-stroke or 4-stroke ship engines. Experience as a Chief Engineer on a marine vessel or as a commercial sailor. Extensive welding and machining skills. Why Work Here?

Day shift runs from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with potential weekend work depending on emergent needs. Travel constitutes 30-40% of the time, primarily around the Texas Gulf Coast but also potentially worldwide. When traveling, work is often intensive to complete tasks promptly, with no more than 12 hours worked in a single day. Job Type & Location
