Marine Vessel Maintenance Mechanic
The Marine Mechanic is responsible for carrying out daily duties such as repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting marine diesel engines. Position specific responsibilities: Perform all preventative maintenance (fluids check: engine oil, coolant, transmission, battery, lighting, etc.) Evaluate and repair faulty mechanical systems Conduct service calls to various harbor locations and/or underway vessels; be on-call for emergencies as needed Troubleshoot 12/24 Volt DC systems and generators and repair as needed (electrical systems such as 110, 220, 440 ac/dc) Operate hand tools, power tools, and hydraulic systems (hand/ electrical tools, steering, etc.) Assist with ad hoc related duties and assignments as needed Maintain accurate records, both paper and electronic, for purchasing, work orders, engine hours, and fluid levels Maintain a safe work environment, promote best practices, and work indoor/ outdoor in a variety of weather conditions Desired background: At least 2 years experience with marine diesel applications, gasoline, hydraulics At least 2 years mechanical experience Certificates or schooling for HVAC, welding, plumbing, electrical, mechanical preferred Pay: DOE - $17 to $35/hr Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
