Neurodiagnostic Tech Full Time: 6:30am-5:00pm Requires formal working knowledge equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college) requires knowledge of a specialized field. Associate's degree in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology or equivalent. Position Summary: Under moderate supervision prepares patient for and conducts various neurodiagnostic procedures such as Electroencephalograms Evoked Potentials and Transcranial Doppler exams. Collects patient information pertinent to the interpretation of the tests and determines proper procedures for testing. Essential Functions Include: Standard EEGs - Performs standard EEGs such as wake and sleep nasopharyngeal bedside isolation pediatric neonatal electrocerebral inactivity evaluations etc. according to departmental procedures. Compiles Patient Data - Compiles data on patient's neurologic status and clinical history which may be pertinent to interpretation of neurodiagnostic procedure from the chart patient or family etc. Neurovascular Studies - Performs non-invasive neurovascular studies including Transcranial Doppler examinations. Evoked Potentials - Attaches standard and current inducing electrodes and records evoked potentials (computer averaged electrical responses) to visual auditory and somatosensory stimuli within the nervous system. Hearing Screening - Performs OAE and/or ABR screening on infants to assess hearing. Support During Seizures - Provides supportive patient care and makes detailed observations of clinical manifestations during seizures and other patient emergency situations.
